A catch-all mailbox receives messages sent to invalid addresses under the same domain name. For instance, a message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. In this way, you can get emails from pals or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Only one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at some moment you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction implies that the spam will not be re-sent to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Website Hosting

If you have a cloud website hosting plan with our company and you wish to enable the catch-all option for a specific e-mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it will take literally only one single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do this. A catch-all button is available next to each email address that you have set up under any domain hosted in the account. You can choose one single email address per domain by clicking on the respective button. This will activate the feature straight away, so all messages sent to misspelled addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking the button once again will disable the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will exhibit a cautionary note and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature until you remove the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server plan that we offer will allow you to configure a catch-all mailbox without effort even if you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All you have to do to achieve that is click the catch-all icon, which will be next to each email address that you’ve created with your domains in the Email Manager section of the Control Panel. As you can have only one single mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will warn you if you have already configured a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you’d like to use has email forwarding enabled. If you reach the decision that you don’t need the feature anymore, you can turn it off by clicking once again on the same icon. The Email Manager section will also permit you to view your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
